This intimate wedding was filled with tons of laughter, lots of joy, and an amazing celebration filled with only the couple’s closest friends and family. A small wedding can be difficult to pull off, but Anna and Dang lucked out with a fantastic villa on the south shore, situated right on the picturesque Maunalua Bay. We arrived at their location, nestled among the palm trees, and began taking getting-ready shots of the bridal party (OMG a red wedding dress!). I could tell they were anxious to see each other as they got ready in their separate rooms. Before the ceremony, Anna and Dang exchanged love letters, which is one of our favorite pre-wedding traditions and is such an emotionally touching moment before the ceremony. Guests gathered on the lawn for their Oahu beach elopement and the ceremony started, Anna turned everyone’s heads as she made her way down the aisle with her dad. The altar was framed perfectly, looking out over the water with Diamond Head crater in the distance. In a unique handfasting ritual, the couple had their guests tie ribbons around their hands, signifying their bond and devotion to each other. Since this intimate elopement had only close friends and family in attendance Anna and Dang had much more time to mingle with their guests during their intimate cocktail hour on the lawn. As the sunset over the bay, we captured golden hour photos in the stunning atrium of the villa, as well as the lush green garden. With the final light disappearing for the evening, Anna and Dang shared a private dance on the beach as newlyweds.
