Micro Wedding at Moli'i Gardens
Like most couples who had big Hawai'i wedding plans in 2020, Chris and Jocelyn were forced to cancel the celebration at Kualoa Ranch. After their large wedding was canceled, we had planned to take some pictures at their venue (Molii Gardens at Kualo Ranch) on their original wedding date, but with shut-downs still in place, we were forced to postpone. But, they didn't let closures stop their celebration! Once the lockdowns on Oahu were lifted we met up for the perfect overcast day on the Windward side of Oahu for the cutest micro wedding! This was a real day of connecting, having fun, and sharing so much love, even though friends and family couldn't be there. Chris and Jocelyn didn't compromise on details and had the most beautiful micro wedding/ elopement/ bridal celebration all in one.
Jocelyn bought her gorgeous lace, off-the-shoulder dress just for this occasion, saving the big reveal of her wedding dress until they can celebrate with family. Still worthy of a first look, we captured the moment Jocelyn tapped Chris on the shoulder and surprised him with her new dress.
Chris and Jocelyn took turns wrangling their pup, Bowie, we seemed to embody all the excitement of the day! He would get anxious if he wasn't in the photos too, and go jealous every time the pair stole a kiss. Bowie was incorporated into the shoot in so many wonderful ways, from Chris's custom printed socks with Bowie's picture, to his sweet bandana.
Throughout the afternoon Chris and Jocelyn took full advantage of the beautiful garden space. They danced where their altar would have stood, ran from the iconic dock, and popped champagne just as it started to drizzle (and then made out under an umbrella for a bit).
As the sun got close to the horizon, we made our way to a nearby beach. With nothing but a few local fishermen, Bowie joyfully played in the sand, and Chris and Jocelyn danced in the surf. It was truly the perfect celebration and the sweetest reminder that love is not canceled.
